Tracking the return of strong storms today

TODAY: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect Sunday for several rounds of storms possible. Rain will first move in early this morning, with a low chance for severe storms for the first part of the day. Conditions briefly dry up late this afternoon and evening, allowing the atmosphere to destabilize ahead of a cold front tonight. More strong to severe storms are possible approaching sundown, with storms late today bringing all hazards. Wind is the highest concern with storms today, but hail and a few tornadoes are also possible. Severe storms likely exit the area around midnight.

TOMORROW: Spotty showers are still possible for the Monday morning commute, with more isolated activity the rest of the day. Most will stay dry, and cooler in the mid to upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Dry conditions settle in through the workweek with highs in the 70s and low 80s through Wednesday. Late week looks closer to average in the upper 80s, and the longer-term forecast is trending even warmer as rain chances remain low.
