Tracking afternoon storms bringing flood and severe risks

This Afternoon: Isolated nonsevere rain is possible early afternoon, with possible stronger storms developing after 5 PM. These will last through tonight bringing all severe hazards, winds up to 60 MPH, hail up to 1" in diameter and a low but not zero chance for a tornado.

Tonight: Severe storms exit the area likely around midnight with more on-and-off storms overnight. Lows cool to the lower 70s.

Extended: Rain chances continue on and off for the next several days, though extreme heavy rain is not as likely and flooding is a lower concern. Still, some roadways could become inundated from the constant showers so it's important to take it slow. The latest 7 day rain totals indicate up to 5 inches of rain possible in eastern Missouri.
