Tracking a drier afternoon with more flooding overnight

This Afternoon: Rain exits for the late afternoon with lingering cloud cover keeping conditions mild. Temperatures reach the lower 80s with some parts of Mid-MO only in the 70s today.

Overnight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 60s with late-night storms developing after midnight. These storms could bring strong winds, but flash flooding is the biggest concern tonight and early Wednesday. An axis of heavy moisture will likely drop several inches of rainfall over eastern Missouri into early tomorrow, so extra caution is needed for the morning commute.

Extended: A repeat pattern continues as skies mostly dry out Wednesday afternoon, with another round of heavy rain possible into the overnight. These storms late Wednesday into Thursday could be stronger to severe, bringing localized hail along with more flooding. Rain totals this week continue to increase, while flooding is also an increasing concern, so remain aware on roadways.
