Tracking continuing dangerous heat with possible Saturday storms

Today: Early Friday morning sees some light spotty showers with afternoon highs reaching up to 102 degrees. A Weather Alert Day has been issued as the heat index climbs up to 108 degrees. Winds remain out of the southwest at 8-12 MPH.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the upper 70s with partly cloudy skies and winds continuing out of the southwest at 8-12 MPH.

Extended: Saturday sees highs into the upper 90s with the heat index reaching into the triple digits once again. Saturday also welcomes scattered showers and storms throughout the daytime and overnight hours. Late Saturday night could welcome an isolated strong to severe storm tracking through Mid-Missouri. Sunday sees highs into the lower 90s with partly cloudy skies.
