Tracking scattered late morning/ early afternoon showers and storms

Today: Scattered showers and storms begin in western portions of Mid-Missouri after 10 PM lasting until the late afternoon hours. An isolated strong to severe storm remains possible. The overall risk of widespread severe storms remains very low. Strong winds and brief downpours remain the primary impacts. The afternoon highs climb into the lower 90s.

Tonight: Skies remain partly cloudy as lows cool to the lower 70s. Winds remain out of the west at 5-10 mph.

Extended: Tuesday morning sees scattered chances of showers and storms with a possible secondary round during the late evening hours. The severe risk remains low once again as highs soar into the upper 90s. the heat index looks to top out up to 102 degrees Tuesday. Wednesday through Friday sees the highs float around 100 degrees with the heat index topping out possible each day at 104 degrees.
