Tracking showers tonight with a round of storms possible early Thursday

TONIGHT: Showers will begin tonight in an off and on manner around the dinner hour, continuing into the overnight. Storms are a possibility early Thursday, before sunrise. We may see storms develop locally, but a round from the west is possible as well.

TOMORROW: Thursday morning's storm chance will bring a marginal risk for hail and damaging winds, but confidence is low on where storms develop and track, and it is still possible for storms to miss mid-Missouri all together. The overall risk for severe at any one location is quite low. Chances for storms are greatest south of I-70, with areas near the Lake of the Ozarks and Truman Lake having the best chance at storms. Overall, this rain chance will push out of the region by midday, leaving us drier the second half of the day. A cold front will be on the heels of storms, and may create additional development but that likely happens east of us. Temperatures still likely reach 90s before our cooldown.

EXTENDED: The front will bring in cooler and drier air, dropping us into the 80s for highs on Friday and Saturday, and keeping rain chances at bay until we shower chances return on Sunday. We'll approach 90 again on Sunday, and watch temperatures climb until they reach upper 90s by midweek.
