Tracking a hot and mostly dry Independence Day

7.4.23

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the mid-90s while the heat index reaches nearly 100 degrees. Skies remain partly cloudy. An isolated brief shower/ storm is possible south of I-70 this evening but most of Mid-Missouri remains completely dry. Any rainfall that moves through for the few cells will be very brief.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to lower 70s with partly cloudy skies. An isolated shower/ storms remains possible but looks to be brief for any areas impacted. This should not cause issues for the majority of Mid-Missouri for the firework forecast.

Extended: Wednesday sees scattered showers and storms throughout the day. Rainfall totals throughout Wednesday remain under 1/2" for most areas. Temperatures cool to the mid 80s throughout the rest of the week before more weekend showers and storms arrive.
