Tracking mid-week showers with dangerous late-week heat

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s tonight with partly cloudy skies and winds out of the northwest at 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Tuesday sees an increase in highs near or at 90 degrees as winds slowly switch out of the southwest during the afternoon at 5-10 mph. Skies become partly cloudy.

Extended: Tuesday night into Wednesday morning welcomes scattered showers and storms that exit the region by Wednesday afternoon as highs warm into the mid 90s. Thursday sees the actual temperature soar top 100 degrees with heat index up to 106 degrees. Friday sees similar conditions with the heat index rising a few degrees less up to 104 degrees before weekend showers and storms arrive.
