Tracking extreme UV levels this afternoon with clouds returning late week

This Afternoon: Highs increase near 90 degrees as skies remain mostly sunny. This will bring the UV index up to extreme levels, with sunburn possible in under 15 minutes.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool into the lower 60s as winds remain out of the east at 5-10 mph. Skies remain mostly clear at 5-10 mph thanks to a parked high pressure system overhead.

Extended: The second half of the week sees highs into the upper 80s with plenty of sunshine. The current high pressure system overhead breaks apart heading into the weekend giving way to scattered showers and storms. Rainfall totals reach up to 1/2" for portions of Mid-Missouri throughout the next seven days.
