Tracking sunshine to wrap up the week, rain through the weekend

Today: Temperatures reach the mid-80s with no afternoon storms Friday. Some haze will still be present from smoke in the upper atmosphere, and light air quality impacts are expected near the surface today. Air quality is still overall good to get outdoors any time today!

Tomorrow: Much-needed rain arrives by late morning Saturday, with scattered storms possible through the afternoon. We'll likely reach the 80s again thanks to the dry start.

Extended: A low pressure system arrives from the southwest this weekend, finally bringing widespread chances for rain. Rain will linger into the overnight Saturday, and on Sunday, the low will pass from west to east, bringing another peak in rain chances through the region. Rain totals are now clearer with this system bringing anywhere from a quarter of an inch of rain to an inch in some spots. Drier weather sets in for Monday, where we're cool behind a cold front as temps only climb to near 80. Next week doesn't look promising rain-wise, but we're eying a few systems to our southwest by Wednesday.
