Tracking chances for much needed rain during the weekend
TONIGHT: It's cooling back off into the low 60s by the end of the night, and some clouds will be present. Winds blowing from the SE at 5-8 mph.
TOMORROW: Clouds start to increase more, and by late morning I'm tracking our first chances for rainfall. Throughout the rest of the day you can expect scattered showers and weak storms. Temperatures will be warming back up into the high 80s. In total over the weekend I'm expecting about an inch of rain, which will have a chance of helping with our current extreme drought in parts of the viewing area.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking higher chances for more consistent rainfall early afternoon on Sunday as a cold front pushes through Missouri. This also brings more chances for non severe thunderstorms spread through out the afternoon hours as the cold front passes over us. This also means temperatures will be on average 10 degrees cooler than what we'll see on Saturday, and briefly keep us in the 70s until Tuesday, where we jump back up into the low 80s. The rest of the week is looking dry, with slight chances mid week for rain, but these systems are currently tracking to the south of us. Expect temperatures to get back up into the high 80s by the end of the week.
