Tracking sun Tuesday ahead of limited rain chances Wednesday

TODAY: It's another sunny day, with a few fair clouds for the vast majority of the day. Expect winds from the southeast in the 5-10 mph range. Temperatures will climb just a few degrees warmer than Monday, into the low 80s.

TONIGHT: Around sunset, some isolated shower and thunderstorm activity is possible southeast of a line from Camdenton to Owensville. The vast majority of us will be dry.

EXTENDED: The moisture that drives these isolated pop-ups to our southeast on Tuesday, will move into the region on Wednesday. Isolated storms will redevelop on Wednesday afternoon, and temperatures will climb into the mid-80s. On Thursday, a "backdoor" cold front will sweep in from the northeast (why we call it a "backdoor" front). Despite the front coming from an odd direction, it should do it's job at clearing us of rain chances the rest of the work week. This will be high pressure to our east sort of pushing moisture to our western border. With this said, we'll be on the fringe of moisture. Kansas City will have a chance for rain Thursday through Saturday, while we may JUST be on the dry side of things. If this shifts, we could easily see rain chances increase. For now, we look dry and "cool" Thursday through Friday. "Cool" is relative, as we'll be more seasonable than anything, with a high near normal, in the upper 70s and near 80. On Sunday, temperatures climb back above normal, into the mid-80s, and rain chances increase. This looks to continue into early next week.
