Tracking warmer temperatures and an isolated shower or storm late Tuesday
TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows in the mid-50s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with a spot shower possible toward evening. Highs in the low to mid-80s.
EXTENDED: Upper high pressure will continue to bring slightly above average temperatures to much of Mid-Missouri Tuesday and Wednesday, but the increase in moisture could trigger a few showers or storms late in the day. Little to no measurable rain is expected. An area of low pressure over the Great Lakes will send what's known as a backdoor cold front through the region on Thursday into Friday, moving cooler air into Mid-Missouri from east to west. Highs reach around 80 with lower humidity. The weekend is shaping up to be warmer and largely quiet with highs in the lower 80s on Saturday and creeping up into the upper 80s by Sunday and Memorial Day. Rain chances will be slim, but not zero due to low pressure across the Mid-South trying to send clouds and a few showers or storms our way on the northern edge.
