Tracking scattered showers returning on Friday before a beautiful weekend

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and warmer with lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Spotty rain early, becoming more widespread by early afternoon. Showers could bring around 0.25" of rain. Highs in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: Smoky haze from Canadian wildfires is still lingering around Mid-Missouri this afternoon, with more clouds moving in in advance of our next cold front that will bring rain for much of Friday. Showers will be somewhat spotty to start on early Friday morning, but rain becomes more widespread into the afternoon before exiting to the south by evening. High pressure quickly moves back in, keeping temperatures in the upper 40s to around 50 on Saturday morning. We'll have low humidity all weekend with highs in the 70s on Saturday and near 80 on Sunday. An upper high pressure ridge builds across the Plains and Midwest into next week, pushing temperatures into the mid-80s by the middle of the week with very limited rain chances all week. Any rain will ride along the periphery of the high, which may meander over Mid-Missouri between Wednesday and Thursday.
