Tracking afternoon clouds and Friday showers and Storms

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the lower 80s as skies welcome partly cloudy cover.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s with partly cloudy skies.

Extended: Showers and storms move in ahead of an approaching cold front early Friday morning after 6 am. These showers and storms remain scattered throughout the afternoon eventually exiting by the overnight hours. The rest of the weekend remains dry and sunny as winds cool Saturday into the mid to lower 70s.

Chance Gotsch

Chance Gotsch grew up just south of St. Louis and moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri to pursue a degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

His interest in weather begin as a child when he used to be afraid of storms.

Chance joined the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team in February 2021. He is currently the weekday noon meteorologist.
