Tracking scattered storms and a warmer weekend

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the mid-70s thanks to scattered showers and storms this afternoon. rainfall totals look to reach up to 0.25" in isolated areas. Winds remain out of the southeast at 10-15 mph.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the mid-60s with continuous chances of scattered showers and storms.

Extended: Friday sees another warm-up into the mid-80s. Isolated storms are possible midday Friday if the atmosphere can overcome a CAP in the environment. A CAP acts as a warm layer in the environment that blocks storms from developing. If the CAP holds then there will be minimal isolated showers and storms. If it breaks, the possibility for a few strong to severe storms increases. The main threats on these storms would be strong winds and large hail. Moving into the weekend, temperatures reach back into the 80s with a passing cold front Sunday leading to more scattered showers and storms.
