Tracking a calm and sunny afternoon before showers and storms return Thursday

Today: Afternoon highs warm into the lower 70s with skies remaining mostly sunny. Winds remain out of the north at 5 mph. Pollen levels remain high this afternoon.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the mid-40s as skies become partly cloudy. Winds switch out of the southeast at 5 mph.

Extended: Thursday morning begins dry as cloud cover increases heading towards noon. Thursday afternoon sees scattered showers and storms after 4 pm becoming more widespread late Thursday night. Showers remain into the region Friday morning making for a wet start to the day before clearing during the afternoon hours. Temperatures continue to warm into the low 80s this weekend as chances of showers and storms increase heading into Sunday afternoon remaining scattered throughout the first half of next week.
