Tracking cooler temperatures overnight, weekend frost

TONIGHT: Becoming mostly clear with lows in the mid-40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with highs in the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: Spotty strong storms have moved out of Mid-Missouri as a cold front works east tonight, leaving us with gradually clearing skies and chilly temperatures overnight. We'll drop into the mid-40s overnight with sunshine returning on Friday, but gusty winds keep us in the mid-60s during the day. As winds die down into Saturday morning, temperatures drop to the upper 30s to start the weekend. Saturday is significantly cooler with a cold high pressure settling in to our north. Highs reach around 50 degrees with overnight lows dropping to about freezing. Widespread frost will be possible, so cover or bring in sensitive plants if possible. Sunday will be warmer as we get back into the upper 50s, but count on a cold start to Monday with morning temperatures in the upper 30s. Temperatures will be slightly below average for much of next week in the low to mid-60s with low pressure tracking to our south by mid-week. That could bring the potential for 1-1.5" of rain between Tuesday and Thursday morning.
