Tracking a warmer afternoon before Thursday storms
Today: Afternoon highs peak into the lower 80s as winds remain out of the south at 15-20 mph with gust up to 35 mph possible. Skies remain partly cloudy. Pollen levels hold steady with very high levels of tree pollen.
Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s with chances of showers and storms creeping in by the early morning hours.
Extended: Showers and storms begin tomorrow morning beginning as a few isolated showers and becoming stronger and increasing to scattered by later portions of the morning and early afternoon hours. Southeastern portions of Mid-Missouri (mainly southeast of Columbia) can see some strong to severe potential with hail and strong winds being the main threats. This risk is short lived as a cold front continues to push out precipitation by 4 PM. Conditions remain partly cloudy heading into the weekend with cooling temperatures. Mid-Missouri is at risk to see a potential frost this weekend throughout the early morning hours due to temperatures reaching into the mid to lower 30s.
