Tracking warm air that sticks around until the weekend

TODAY: High pressure is still parked directly east of us, dominating our weather pattern. Expect another sunny and warm day, with highs in the low 80s, just a degree or two warmer than yesterday. Winds will be from the south around 10-15 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear overnight, with winds relaxing. Temperatures fall into the low 50s overnight.

EXTENDED: Starting in the low 50s, temps will be warm at sunrise on Thursday before temps quickly climb into the low 80s for highs once again. Thursday may be the warmest day this week by a degree or two, as clouds and moisture work into the region on Friday. Most of the day looks dry, and we'll still likely reach the 80s for highs under partly cloudy skies. Rain chances don't show up until the evening hours, and most likely the overnight. Rain chances will linger into Saturday morning, before drying up by Saturday evening. Behind this system, we're cooling off, with highs near 70 on Saturday, and 60s Sunday and Monday. Temperatures warm slightly ahead of another chance of rain on Tuesday of next week. Our average high for this time of the year sits in the mid-60s for most of mid-Missouri, meaning the weekend will signal a more spring-like feel returning to the region after a prolonged stretch of summer-like warmth.
