Tracking rain moving back in tomorrow, cool down for the weekend
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with showers arriving before sunrise. Lows in the upper 40s.
TOMORROW: Showers for much of the morning with afternoon thunder possible. Highs in the upper 50s to around 60. Rain amounts between 0.25" and 0.5" with gusty winds all day into the night.
EXTENDED: Clouds have spilled in along with gusty winds ahead of a cold front that will move in from the west on Thursday. Cloud cover keeps temperatures in the upper 40s overnight, but showers don't arrive until around 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. Scattered showers continue throughout the morning, with a few thunderstorms right along the front by late afternoon on Thursday. Severe weather isn't expected, but gusty winds look to stick around through the day with gusts up to 30 mph. Behind the front, much colder air quickly moves in, allowing any lingering precipitation after sunset to turn over to light snowfall. I'm not expecting accumulation, but there could be a light coating on the grass for areas north of I-70 well before sunrise on Friday. Friday is chilly and breezy with highs in the low 40s, but clouds should gradually decrease. The weekend is looking much cooler than normal with morning temperatures in the low 20s and highs in the mid-upper 30s on Saturday. Sunday is perhaps a touch warmer in the low 40s, but we don't see a significant warm up into the 50s until next week. Rain looks to hold off until Wednesday or Thursday of next week.
