Tracking a cloudy and cool start to the week

TODAY: Low clouds and a northwest breeze keep Monday cool, with highs in the 30s. Expect a northwest breeze through the day that will have temperatures feeling like teens to start the day, and twenties this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Clouds will start to break up overnight, especially in the west. This will allow temperatures to drop very efficiently by the early morning hours, leaving many of us in the low 20s.

EXTENDED: More sunshine helps us get temperatures into the 40s on Tuesday, despite winds still from the north, at least to start the day. Late in the day Tuesday, we get the return of southerly winds which will set us up for a big warmup on Wednesday. We climb into the 60s under partly cloudy skies on Wednesday. These clouds are a marker of things to come, though, as rain returns by Thursday morning. Expect rain and thunder through the day on Thursday, with temperatures in the 60s ahead of a cold front. Behind the front on Friday morning, we may see some snow flurries, but no significant accumulations are expected at this time. Drier, but cooler weather sets up for the weekend.
