Tracking warmer air through midweek
TODAY: Clear skies and a light north breeze have us in the 30s this morning, but winds shifting more from the south will have temperatures climbing nearly 30 degrees, back into the 60s under mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Winds are light in comparison to Monday, sustained around 5-10 mph.
TONIGHT: Skies are mostly clear overnight, with light and variable winds. Temperatures fall only into the 40s overnight.
EXTENDED: Wednesday starts warm. At the same time, a cold front is approaching mid-MO. Still, temperatures should land in the upper 50s and low 60s as an immediate cooldown isn't imminent behind the front. Some high clouds will be overhead, but overall, plenty of sunshine gets to the surface. That cold front stalls to our south Wednesday night, and returns with our next system on Thursday afternoon. Rain is widespread Thursday night, with warmth as temps are back in the low 50s as rain arrives. As we transition to the back side of this system, cooler air will at least try to turn rain to snow. If this does happen, we'll transition to some wet flakes on Friday morning. Exact track and timing is still uncertain, but beyond this system, temperatures rebound into the 40s Friday afternoon and Saturday, with 50s in store Sunday.
