Tracking mild temperatures through mid-week
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and breezy with wind gusts between 20-25 mph. Lows in the upper 30s.
TOMORROW: Partly sunny with a breeze shifting to the southeast during the day. Highs in the lower 60s.
EXTENDED: Winds will drop off significantly tonight, but we can still expect a few gusts up to 20 mph into Tuesday morning. Clouds gradually decrease, allowing temperatures to rise into the lower 60s. Wednesday is mild near 60 despite a cold front working through during the day. Our main focus for the rest of the week will be a closed low pressure system that will move across the south central Plains Thursday and into the Missouri and Ohio Valleys at the end of the week. We'll likely see rain with temperatures in the upper 40s to around 50 by late Thursday afternoon. There is still quite a bit of uncertainty on where the track of this system will go, and that will greatly impact any wintry weather that we may or may not get. If the storm track stays farther south across Arkansas, we may end up with some accumulating wet snow. If the storm tracks farther north, we'll end up with mostly rain and potentially a few thunderstorms across southern Missouri into Friday. Regardless, liquid precipitation amounts will be in the 1-2.5" range. If we do see snow, it will be tough to get it to accumulate given low snow to liquid ratios and warm soil temperatures. Saturday will be more sunny with highs in the upper 40s, and we'll close the weekend on Sunday with highs in the mid-upper 50s.
