Tracking warmer temperatures and more sunshine today

Today: Sunshine returns in full force, along with southerly winds to guide highs near the 60 mark. Breezes should be generally calmer than yesterday, between 12-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

President's Day: Another sunny day near 60 with winds ramping up from the west. Gusts could reach up to 25 mph in the late afternoon.

Extended: You won't likely notice a couple minor disturbances moving through on both Sunday and Monday nights. We may see a few sprinkles from these, but the main system we're tracking comes midweek. A warm front lifts north on Tuesday evening, initiating widespread showers overnight. Rainfall continues to ramp up into Wednesday as strong low-level winds bring in even more moisture and energy. This could lead to the development of a few stronger storms for the early half of Wednesday, though we'll need to get a bit closer to this system for more details. Rain totals have increased to just above 1" from the heaviest downpours, while other areas could see around 1/2". Regardless conditions look to remain mild most of Wednesday as a cold front lags behind this system. This will likely lead to steadily dropping temperatures Thursday as the front sweeps in, with colder conditions lasting through Friday. Keep rain gear handy with confidence increasing in another system on the way next weekend.
