Tracking a cold Friday before warmer air returns for the weekend

TONIGHT: Snow showers ending by mid-evening, with a few slick spots possible across northern Missouri. Lows in the upper teens to around 20, wind chills in the low teens by morning.

TOMORROW: Chilly and bright with highs in the upper 30s to around 40.

EXTENDED: Slick spots may be possible in untreated areas tonight, especially north of Highway 24, but overall widespread impacts will be limited. Temperatures drop into the upper teens to around 20 overnight, with wind chills around 10 degrees by daybreak. Expect more sunshine tomorrow with highs in the upper 30s to around 40 with lighter winds. The weekend starts out warmer as the jet stream lifts to our north, bringing temperatures into the mid-50s on Saturday. Saturday night, a weak disturbance rolls in, bringing more cloud cover and a chance for a few light rain showers. Clouds clear out quickly, leaving us sunny with a high near 60 on Sunday. Next week is mild to start off with highs in the mid-upper 50s Monday and Tuesday, and another low pressure system brings rain by Wednesday. Temperatures look to remain above average for most of next week.
