Tracking a sunny weekend with climbing temperatures

TODAY: Below freezing to start, with temperatures fighting a northerly breeze through the day. Highs top out near 50 under bright blue skies.

TOMORROW: Another cold morning but southerly winds and sunshine will bring highs to the upper 50s. Clouds should hold off most of the day before a minor disturbance arrives into early Monday.

EXTENDED: Low pressure brings a brief bout of clouds, but no precip, early Monday morning. This will spell an end to the warmup as highs drop to the lower 50s. Another system moves in early Valentine's Day, and forecast models already have good agreement in widespread showers throughout the day. Rain will be on the lighter end though, with totals generally below an inch. A brief break is likely Wednesday as we await the next low pressure, which brings more rain and possibly wintry impacts by Thursday.
