Tracking cooling temperatures

TODAY: Rain will be out of mid-Missouri by the afternoon. This afternoon is drier, with temperatures climbing just back into the low-40s, meaning conditions are prime for any accumulated snow to begin melting. Some breaks in the clouds are possible by late afternoon.

TONIGHT: Clouds build back in ahead of precipitation round number two. Overnight, into early Friday morning, light snow and possibly a rain/snow mix is passing by just south of mid-Missouri. This may brush areas like the Lake of the Ozarks, Pulaski and Phelps counties, but very little precipitation, if any is actually expected here. Accumulations are not likely, unless this takes another shift back to the north.ADVERTISING

EXTENDED: Friday will be mostly dry, and cold, as high pressure moves in throughout the day. Expect a high of upper 30s. South flow behind the high climbs temps into the 40s under sunny skies Saturday, and into the 50s under similar conditions Sunday. Warmth continues to build into early next week, with rain chances also building for Tuesday. Upper 50s remain through Wednesday.
