Tracking overnight rain and strong winds
TONIGHT: Steady rainfall with a few rumbles of thunder. Lows in the mid-30s with wind gusts increasing to 35-40 mph.
TOMORROW: Chance of rain and snow early, mostly cloudy with gusty winds between 35-40 mph. Highs in the upper 40s.
EXTENDED: Showers spread north overnight, becoming heavy at times. As temperatures drop to near freezing north of I-70. Snow showers could mix with rain briefly before precipitation exits to the northeast. No accumulation is expected at this time. Rainfall amounts will land at around 1" for much of our area, with 1.5" possible farther south near the Lake of the Ozarks. Thursday is very breezy with westerly wind gusts between 35-40 mph. Another brief wave of precipitation will slide in for areas south of I-70 on Friday morning, potentially bringing a dusting of light snow that melts by afternoon as road temperatures increase. Friday is chilly with highs in the upper 30s to around 40. The weekend is looking great as temperatures rise into the upper 40s Saturday with mid-upper 50s forecast for Sunday. Next week starts off mild with highs in the 50s, and another low pressure system could bring another round of rain by Tuesday.
