Tracking a cold front to bring light rain overnight and cooler temperatures by Tuesday
TONIGHT: Isolated showers with gusty winds overnight. Lows in the upper 30s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and cooler with highs in the upper 40s to around 50.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking a cold front that moves in tonight and brings a few showers likely before midnight, ending before sunrise. Rain amounts will be around a trace to 0.1". We'll be cooler and cloudy in the wake of the front tomorrow, with highs only making it to about 50. Another low pressure system sliding by to our south will bring a chance at some showers for our southern counties tomorrow night, and slowly progresses northeast through Wednesday. Widespread rain is likely Wednesday into Wednesday night, with about an inch of rain possible. Slightly higher amounts are forecast for the southern third of the state. We'll remain right around or just below 50 degrees on Thursday before a fast moving system brings another round of precipitation late Thursday night into Friday. This would likely start off as rain overnight Thursday, and potentially end as snow as lows dip to near the freezing mark on Friday morning. Given the speed of the system, I'm not expecting many impacts for Friday at this time. Any snow accumulation would be brief and likely limited to grassy areas. Friday will be the coldest day of the week with high temperatures in the upper 30s. We bounce back over the weekend with more sunshine and highs in the low 40s on Saturday, and beautiful weather on Sunday for any Chiefs viewing parties that may be planned outside. We remain warmer than average into Monday with temperatures in the 50s and rain in the forecast.
