Tracking light precipitation this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Warm with highs near 50. Winds will be breezy between 10-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph from the southwest. Sunshine peeks through partly cloudy skies with our southern counties seeing the most sun.

TOMORROW: Temperatures start out near freezing early Saturday with more clouds. Southerly winds boost temperatures back to the low to mid 50s in the afternoon. A cold front is expected to arrive late in the evening, bringing a few passing showers.

EXTENDED: Cold air following this system will attempt to mix in some freezing rain and/or snowflakes overnight into Sunday. Given the expected light nature of the precipitation, we don't currently anticipate this causing any travel headaches. Some may get through the front with little-to-no precipitation at all. One constant for all though is the cold air. This sets up Sunday for a high of 30, with highs in the 20s and lows in the teens to start next week. Models are hinting at arctic high pressure keeping us cold and dry for next week, but we may have a couple brushes with moisture from the south, meaning snow isn't out of the question.
