Tracking a cooler Tuesday, rain returning Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cooler with lows in the upper 30s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cooler with highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Tonight, winds finally begin to ease with lows falling into the upper 30s. It will be chilly, but keep in mind our average low is 22 for this time of year. Tomorrow will feature sunshine and highs in the lower 50s with clouds moving back in toward evening. Showers start to move in on Wednesday morning and become more widespread through early afternoon, with drier air trying to move in toward evening. We'll be in the upper 40s for afternoon highs with wintry weather staying to our north across far northern Missouri and Iowa. Wednesday night, we'll drop into the low to mid-30s with a few flurries possible into early Thursday. Clouds stick around for much of Thursday with temperatures struggling to get to 40 degrees. Rain amounts will be in the 0.5" to 0.75" range. We'll have more sunshine on Friday and close out the week with highs in the low 40s. Uncertainty increases surrounding the weekend forecast as we're expecting a dry start to Saturday, but low pressure tracking into the region could bring a chance of light rain or a mix Saturday night into Sunday morning, but forecast guidance is currently depicting widely different solutions on where that low will end up. Either way, we should be a bit warmer than our seasonal averages for this time of year with highs in the low to mid-40s.
