Tracking a pleasant weekend before soggy conditions next week

TODAY: Bitingly cold in the early morning with lows in the teens. Bright blue skies and southerly winds push highs to the mid-40s.

TOMORROW: More clouds, with breezes picking up out of the south. Highs hit the mid-50s.

EXTENDED: We'll be tracking a chance for showers by Sunday evening, becoming more widespread into Monday morning and afternoon. There could be a couple rumbles of thunder, but severe weather isn't expected. We'll get into the 60s on Monday with a drop to about 50 on Tuesday behind this system. Most of our attention early next week will shift to the system that will move into the area between Wednesday and Thursday as cold air starts to move in. Low pressure will likely bring widespread rain on Wednesday, but as cold air moves in Wednesday night, there's a chance we could see rain change over to snow depending on how far north or south the low moves. If it goes farther south, we could have a chance at accumulating snow late Wednesday night into Thursday. However, if it moves north we'll end up with mostly rain.
