Tracking fog early today before a sharp warmup

TODAY: Patchy fog, especially along river valleys, is possible early morning. Temperatures rapidly warm to clear conditions before noon, and highs reach the mid-50s.

TONIGHT: A weak disturbance will pass over the area Monday evening, with no precipitation expected. This will switch winds briefly out of the west overnight, leading lows to dip near freezing.

EXTENDED: A few more clouds are expected on Tuesday, but we still manage to make the low 50s. Wednesday will reach the peak of the warmup with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s as low pressure approaches the area. This will send a round of showers and possible wintry mix through Mid-MO into early Thursday. Precipitation type is fairly uncertain at this time, though above-average warmth ahead of this system should favor mostly rain. Still, a wintry mix or snow is possible as newer forecast models continue to trend colder with this event. Conditions look seasonal following this round of precip with more sunshine by the weekend.
