Tracking storms tonight, mild and windy Tuesday
TONIGHT: Storms likely after sunset, with rain exiting after midnight. Patchy fog developing with lows in the low to mid-50s.
TOMORROW: Areas of fog early, becoming partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the low 60s.
EXTENDED: The first round of storms looks to push in from the south/southwest, affecting areas along and south of I-44 after 6:00 p.m., with the western line moving into the Highway 65 corridor after 8:00 p.m. Storms will quickly move east and move into the Highway 63 corridor by around 10:00 p.m. and press east out of our viewing area likely between midnight and 1:00 a.m. The main concerns will be 1" hail and 50-60 mph winds, but an isolated tornado can't be ruled out. We'll end up with about 0.5" to 1" of rain. We'll remain mild into the morning with temperatures only falling to the low to mid-50s. We'll get into the 60s tomorrow with gusty winds, but we'll finally feel the effects of the cold front by Wednesday as temperatures plunge to about 30 by Wednesday morning. Wednesday and Thursday will be chilly with highs in the upper 30s to around 40. We'll rebound a bit by Friday with the upper jet stream trying to lift a bit more north, getting highs back into the upper 40s. Another low pressure system will drag a cold front through between Saturday night and Sunday, bringing a chance for a few showers. The rest of the weekend is a bit cooler with temperatures reaching the lower 40s on Sunday.
