Tracking dangerously cold wind chills and snow tomorrow

TONIGHT: Cloudy with snow showers moving in before sunrise. Temperatures in the upper teens to mid-20s, falling quickly through Thursday morning.

TOMORROW: Snow showers early, with accumulation most likely between late morning and mid-afternoon. Temperatures dropping below zero by afternoon. Wind chills between -20 and -30.

EXTENDED: The entire region is under a wind chill warning and winter storm warning for blizzard-like conditions through Friday. We'll end up with about 2-3" of snow, but winds will gust from 35-40 mph for much of Thursday and Friday, dropping visibility and making travel dangerous. Roads will be hard to treat as temperatures rapidly drop below zero before noon tomorrow. Wind chills fall to about -20 by mid-afternoon with Friday morning wind chills between -30 and -35. Not much improvement is expected on Friday afternoon with feels like temperatures around -20 to -25. Winds ease a bit and temperatures warm into the mid-teens on Saturday, but wind chills will still be in the -5 to -15 range. Weather Alert Day comes to an end on Sunday AM as temperatures rise back into the mid-20s with more sunshine. I'm also tracking a weaker clipper system that could move in from the northwest Sunday night into Monday and bring a few snow showers, but there's not much clarity on if that will even bring much of an impact at this point. Next week warms up significantly with temperatures getting back into the low 40s by Wednesday, and rain returning at the end of the week.
