Tracking stubborn clouds for Sunday
TONIGHT: With a clearing line just to our west, clouds are hanging on tight this evening. This will keep us mostly cloudy tonight. Winds are light, but generally from the west, and will shift more from the northwest as high pressure slides into mid-Missouri overnight. This will pull cooler air in for early tomorrow. Temperatures fall into the low 30s to start Sunday.
TOMORROW: Sunday starts cold and cloudy, with tonight's cloud cover being stubborn, and slow to clear. We will likely start to see some breaks in the clouds by late morning, but a partly to mostly cloudy day is on tap for Sunday. Temperatures will suffer in part thanks to clouds but also north winds, as highs climb only into the mid-40s. We'll add another round of clouds on Monday, and keep temperatures near 50 for highs. We'll warm a bit further on Tuesday, ahead of a chance for widespread rain and chances for thunder through the day. Rain exits early Wednesday morning, leaving us cooler and partly cloudy. Our sunshine window is short lived as we're watching the chance for the wrap around cloud cover on this system to potentially make it back into mid-Missouri. This and cooler air keeps temperatures in the low 40s Thursday, and 30s on Friday. If these clouds try to produce any precipitation, we may see it in the way of a few flurries. Still, if we see any wintry precipitation, impacts will likely be minimal.
