Tracking winds calming and temperatures dropping today
TODAY: Lows in the lower 20s with the wind chill in the teens to start the day. High pressure calms winds by this afternoon but will trap temperatures in the upper 30s despite sunny skies.
TONIGHT: Clouds begin to filter in Saturday evening as a minor disturbance ripples through the area. This could bring a few snowflakes at most but will remain otherwise negligible. Winds slowly turn out of the south and remain calm overnight.
EXTENDED: Sunday is warmer thanks to southerly winds with highs reaching the upper 40s. Rain stays to the south, but we could see a few showers returning by late Monday afternoon or evening for areas generally south of I-70. As low pressure moves northeast, we'll have a shot at rain on Tuesday, but amounts look to stay under 0.25". The pattern remains active for the rest of the week with another storm system moving in between Wednesday night and Thursday night, bringing measurable rain. A few flurries may mix in between Wednesday night and Thursday due to temperatures dipping to near freezing, but minimal winter impacts are expected.
