Tracking a few flurries tonight, bitter wind chills Friday morning
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with a few flurries. Gusty winds with lows falling into the upper teens. Wind chills between 6-10 degrees by morning.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cold with highs in the upper 20s. Gusty winds with wind chills in the teens.
EXTENDED: Impacts are not expected with flurries tonight, but the air behind the front will be quite cold for Friday with temperatures falling into the teens overnight, with winds gusting up to 25 mph. That will drop the wind chill into the single digits by morning. Tomorrow, we'll top out in the upper 20s with gusty winds. Saturday morning will be bitter with wind chills between 8-10 degrees. The afternoon will bring sunshine, getting us into the mid-30s. By Mizzou kickoff, the wind chill will be in the mid-upper teens. Sunday is warmer with sunshine and highs getting into the lower 40s. The jet stream begins to lift north into next week, getting our temperatures closer to normal in the low to mid-50s through Wednesday. I am tracking the potential for a low pressure system to impact the area on Thanksgiving, but there's a lot of disagreement in forecast models on how this is going to play out. For now, Mid-Missouri looks to be in the upper 40s with a chance of rain. Behind the system, it looks cooler than average for next weekend.
