Tracking gusty winds with rain and storms returning Friday

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and windy with highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: We can expect more clouds as a strong low pressure system approaches tomorrow, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s and wind gusts up to 25 mph. Friday is warm with morning temperatures in the lower 60s and winds up to 35 mph at times. By afternoon, showers and storms develop along a cold front to our west, moving in around sunset. Some of these storms could bring heavy rain, and widespread wind gusts up to 40 mph. There could be gusts that strong before the front arrives, potentially causing isolated power outages as winds could range between 35-40 mph. Showers and storms continue overnight Friday into Saturday morning, with showers exiting before noon. Rain amounts will be around 2" or so, with isolated higher amounts where thunderstorms are more robust. The afternoon looks dry on Saturday, but it will continue to be breezy and cool with temperatures remaining in the upper 50s. Sunday will be about 10 degrees warmer as winds shift to the southwest, but we'll hold on to a breeze in the 20-25 mph range. Next week looks mild to start with highs in the upper 60s to around 70. There's a slim chance for a few showers on Tuesday with a weak disturbance, but a better shot at rain toward the end of next week.
