Tracking gusty winds and hot temperatures this weekend, rain returns next week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the upper 50s to around 60.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and breezy with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: The weekend looks windy and hot with lows falling to around 60 tonight, and highs tomorrow getting into the lower 80s. It will be a bit more humid tomorrow, so while it will be windy, the fire danger will be lower. Sunday looks almost as hot with more cloud cover by late afternoon along with gusty winds. I'm tracking a good shot at rain with a cold front and strong low pressure system impacting us between Monday and Tuesday. We'll begin to see widespread cloud cover on Monday with a few isolated showers by afternoon, but the majority of rain coverage won't arrive until Monday night through Tuesday night. Temperatures still make the mid-70s on Monday before the cold front arrives, but showers become more widespread overnight and we remain in the low 50s into Tuesday morning. Tuesday may end up being a touch cooler than the current forecast of 60, but it seems as this is going to be our best day for almost all-day rain. Rain likely exits between late Tuesday night and Wednesday, leaving us around 60 for Wednesday afternoon. Rain amounts will range between 1-2" on the higher end, with an additional 0.25" to 0.5" on Friday with another potential system that I'll be keeping an eye on.
