Tracking a warm and windy end to the week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and not as cold with lows in the mid-upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and windy with gusts up to 25 mph. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

EXTENDED: Winds have increased from the south as upper low pressure continues to slowly migrate to the northeast out of the upper Midwest. Upper winds are shifting from the west to the southwest over the next 24 hours, creating a strong pressure gradient and in turn allowing strong winds to get down to the surface. Temperatures respond to strong south winds Friday, with morning temperatures only falling into the mid-40s and highs in the low 80s. Wind gusts could exceed 25 mph at times. The weekend is warm right off the bat with morning temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60 on Saturday, and strong winds will push us to the low 80s once again in the afternoon. Sunday looks just as warm ahead of a cold front that will bring showers and a few thunderstorms late Sunday night through Monday, with rain exiting early on Tuesday morning, if not before. Rain amounts will be between 1-1.5" area-wide. The rest of the week is cooler, with temperatures topping out near 60 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday.
