Tracking near record morning lows, and a weekend warmup

TODAY: Tuesday is a bitterly cold start with morning lows near record territory in the 20s and afternoon highs climbing into the upper 40s. Generally, winds are from the north, sustained around 10-15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Skies remain clear.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear overnight, and winds relax to around 5 mph. We'll start Wednesday sunny, with lows in the low 20s, near record territory.

EXTENDED: Wednesday kicks off a warm up, as winds shift westerly, allowing highs to climb into the low-to-mid 50s. Lows drop into the 30s and we add clouds overnight Wednesday into Thursday. Conditions stay dry, and we see partly cloudy skies on Thursday. Highs on Thursday see the biggest jump yet, with mid 60s expected. Friday brings back a surge of sunshine and south wind, bumping us into the upper 70s. We'll near 80 on Saturday, with winds at the surface and low levels of the atmosphere pumping in warmth and moisture. This leads to another warm day on Sunday, but also some partly cloudy skies and a chance for showers. Chances for rain center on Monday, as an upper level trough will likely bring a cold front through the region, bringing the chance for widespread measurable rain.
