Tracking near record lows overnight

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with light winds. Lows falling into the lower 20s.

TOMORROW: Increasing clouds and a bit warmer with highs in the lower 50s.

EXTENDED: Tonight, winds die down enough to allow temperatures to dip into the low 20s once again. I've dropped our forecast to 22, which would tie the record low set back in 1972. Winds begin to shift back to the west tomorrow, and a weak disturbance rolls into the area bringing a few more clouds by afternoon. Temperatures will top out in the lower 50s for highs. Tomorrow night won't be quite as cold as we start to see winds shifting back to the southwest, dropping temperatures into the mid-30s. Winds pick up from the southwest Thursday into Friday, bringing us back to the upper 60s on Thursday and upper 70s on Friday. Saturday will be the warmest day with temperatures reaching the lower 80s. I'm tracking a powerful upper level system that will begin to impact us on late Sunday with a few showers possible, but the majority of rain will come along and ahead of a cold front that will slowly move across the area Monday into Tuesday. That will bring a range of 1-2" or so of rain, and drop us back into the 60s by Tuesday. That upper low continues to spin in the vicinity for the week, keeping temperatures near or below average.
