Tracking near record low temperatures Wednesday morning

Today: Temperatures remain nearly 20 degrees below average this afternoon as highs increase slightly to the upper 40s. Skies remain mostly sunny with winds gusting up to 22 mph.

Tonight: Temperatures continue to fall dramatically as winds remain out of the northwest. Overnight lows cool to the lower 20s with mostly clear skies.

Extended: Temperatures begin a warming trend Wednesday afternoon as winds switch out of the southwest. Highs will slowly increase nearing 80 degrees by Saturday afternoon. Conditions remain dry until Sunday afternoon where scattered showers move into Central Missouri. Widespread showers are expected early next week beginning Monday.
