Tracking a beautiful Friday, weekend rain and cool down ahead
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cool with lows falling into the upper 50s to around 60. Patchy fog possible by daybreak.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the mid-upper 80s.
EXTENDED: As the sun goes down, we'll have another night with light winds and clear skies, leading to lows falling to around 60 degrees. Patchy fog is possible in a few low lying areas by daybreak. Friday will be a touch warmer and more humid, but temperatures remain in the mid-upper 80s. We'll be watching two features over the weekend. A tropical low pressure system will move north from the Gulf region, bringing more cloud cover and a chance for a spot shower east of Highway 54 on Saturday. This system will keep cloud cover over the area into Saturday night, but I'm also tracking a cold front that will bring a chance of showers on Sunday. Rain will likely exit most of the area by Sunday afternoon, but lingering clouds and a few sprinkles are possible as low pressure tries to move east into Sunday night. Temperatures only reach the mid-upper 70s on Sunday, but as skies try to gradually clear we'll fall into the mid-upper 50s by Monday morning. Next week should start off with a bit of cloud cover Monday, but upper winds will begin to shift, getting us back to near average temperatures by Tuesday and Wednesday in the lower 80s.
