Tracking scattered showers for Labor Day
TODAY: Many will see a mostly dry day, as rainfall should be sparsely scattered, if not isolated. Thunder may also accompany some showers. Otherwise, Monday is rather cool, with highs near 80 thanks to a northeasterly breeze and clouds.
TONIGHT: Shower activity will die down after sunset, and skies will become mostly clear. Temperatures fall into the mid-60s.
EXTENDED: On Tuesday, moisture shifts east and southeast, leaving us dry enough to kill rain chances. A spot shower is possible near I-44, but otherwise, don't expect rain to return. Skies remain partly cloudy, and temperatures land in the low-to-mid 80s. A bit more sunshine gets us into the middle and upper 80s through Friday, with a relatively quiet upper level flow, and surface winds turning out of the south. An upper level wave will bring a chance for more activity by the weekend, though rain chances remain fairly low.
