Tracking a warm end to the week, late weekend rain

TONIGHT: Isolated shower or storm through about sunset, partly cloudy otherwise. Lows in the mid-upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s.

EXTENDED: A cold front is draped across the northern half of the state and could trigger a few isolated showers or storms through sunset. Outside of that, we can expect a mild night as lows dip into the upper 60s by Friday morning. Friday is a touch cooler in the upper 80s in the wake of this weak front, and we'll see temperatures falling into the upper 70s by halftime of high school football games. The weekend starts off warm as warm front lifts north across the area Saturday into Sunday, giving us highs near 90 on Saturday. I'm tracking an active pattern by the end of the weekend as the upper jet stream brings low pressure to the region. Showers and storms will develop Sunday along the warm front, and we could see repeat rounds Monday through Wednesday as this slow moving system works east across the upper Midwest. By mid-late week, we'll be on the other side of this system with temperatures falling a bit below average into the low 80s for highs. Rain amounts between Sunday and Wednesday will be in the 1-1.5" range.
