Tracking a warmer end to the week, rain chances this weekend
TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows falling into the mid-60s.
TOMORROW: Partly sunny with a few showers and storms possible by afternoon north of I-70. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90.
EXTENDED: Winds will begin shifting to the southwest tomorrow, bringing heat and humidity back to Mid-Missouri for the next few days. A cold front to our north could trigger a few spotty showers and storms north of I-70 by afternoon into the evening, but most areas stay dry with temperatures reaching near 90 by late afternoon. We'll end the week on a warm note Friday with highs in the upper 80s and temperatures in the upper 70s for high school football. A warm front lifts to our north this weekend, keeping us in the upper 80s with heat indices in the low 90s on Saturday, but the associated cold front sets up shop as the upper pattern begins to push low pressure in our direction. We'll be affected by this slow moving system for the first half of next week before high pressure returns. That will bring daily rounds of rain between Sunday and Wednesday, giving us about 1" total.
