Tracking low-end rain chances keeping Mid-MO cooler this weekend

TODAY: Partly cloudy with a chance for afternoon showers near the Lake of the Ozarks. Highs in the lower 80s.

TOMORROW: Isolated showers possible throughout the day with highs warming slightly to the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: By Monday, heat sets back in as a warm front lifts north of us and upper high pressure builds overhead. This will bring temperatures back into the mid-upper 90s by Tuesday, with the heat index creeping back above 100 for much of the week. Little rain is in the forecast, but a weak front could move in between Thursday and Friday bringing a shower chance across the northern part of the state. Heat doesn't look to subside, with above-average temperatures into next weekend.
